Obituary for Ruth Hovancik
Ruth Mary Anna Hovancik, 92 of Bethlehem, passed away on Wednesday evening, October 18, 2017. Her family is so proud of how she handled her last year with such dignity and grace. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Hovancik, who was a former President of Union Local 2600. Born in Laury's Station, she was a daughter of the late Claud N. and Maggie M. (Schuler) Bachman. Ruth was a loving mother who also enjoyed dancing, birding, cookouts, pinochle, going to the casino and anyone who knew her was aware of her "green thumb." She was a former parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Miller Heights.
Survivors: She is survived by her son, James Hovancik of Bethlehem; daughter, Joy Hovancik and her husband Paul Wasilewski of Bethlehem; grandson, Tobias John Martin; granddaughter, Beth Heed; great granddaughter Estrella; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters.
Services: Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to JAMES FUNERAL HOME, Bethlehem. Please offer condolences at www.jamesfuneralhome.org
