Obituary for David R. Vance

David  R.  Vance
David R. Vance, 74, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospice House, after a courageous battle with cancer. He never gave up fighting the disease, but God had other plans for him. Born in Decker, Michigan, he was the son of the late John E. and Belva Vance. He served his country in the U. S. Army, stationed in Korea and later at the U.S. Army Corps, Kilmer, NJ, where he met his wife. David retired as a supervisor from the U. S. Postal Service, Kilmer Facility, after 41 years of service. He lived in Edison, NJ for over 30 years and after retirement moved to Bethlehem, PA.

Survivors: David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Olga (Bober) Vance; sons, Patrick D. Vance (Francine) of Monroe, NJ; Mark D. Vance of Bethlehem; David R. Vance II of Hellertown; Daughters, Donna Cristadoro (Michael) of Edison, NJ; Kristen A Lynch (Brian) of Nazareth; also his loving grandchildren of whom he was proud, Jenna M. Vance, Michael Cristadoro II,Jessica Cristadoro, Alex Lynch, Julia Lynch and Patrick Vance. He was preceded in death by siblings, Patricia Worden, Barbara Clark and John E. Vance. David will also be missed by his brother in law Fr. Marjan Bober of Florida; Alexander Bober (Judy) of Cranford, NJ; sister in law, Teresa Carfagno (William) and many nieces and nephews.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2015, in Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Viewing in Church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Private burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Nazareth, PA. Online condolences may be left at www.jamesfuneralhome.org.
