Obituary for Ruth Laurena Jones
Ruth L. Jones, 94, formerly of Allentown and later Bethlehem, called home by her Lord and Savior, on Thursday, January 15, 2015, while in the care of Gracedale, Lower Nazareth Twp. She was the beloved wife of the late William D. Jones. Born in Freeland, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Elsie (Kreitzberger) Reitz. She was a 1937 graduate of Allen High School. After William’s death in 1964, she worked many years as a cook at Hanover School. Later she worked as a custodian for Bethlehem Steel and for many years was custodian a t First Baptist Church, Bethlehem, where she was a member, retiring when she turned 75 years old.
Survivors: She is survived by her Children, Alan Jones and his wife Linda of Easton; Linda Moore and her husband Douglas of Virginia Beach; Kathy Wagner and her husband Bob of Bath; Laurie Rohrbach-Semmel of Bethlehem; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. She was preceded in death by brothers, Homer, Edgar, and Merle Reitz and sister Betty Brooks.
Services: Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at 10:00 A.M.. in the JAMES FUNERAL HOME, 257 Center Street, Bethlehem, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00-10:00 A.M. Burial will be in Fountain Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.jamesfuneralhome.org
